Beaumont, Texas coin expert Mike Fuljenz notes eBay removed all counterfeit Canadian coins from all of their auction listings. Universally, both younger and elderly collectors have less to worry about regarding coin scams and coin frauds involving Canadian coins on eBay thanks to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

According to Canadian law, all replica coins and currency are considered counterfeits. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police reviewed with eBay officials their laws regarding replicas and counterfeits of their money. It was so enlightening that within hours of the meeting, eBay responded by removing all auction listings for replica notes and coins of Canadian money from the website www.ebay.ca. No legal action nor lawsuits were needed as eBay was quick to acquiesce to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police demands.

A similar removal of Canadian counterfeit coins occurred a few days later from the eBay website in the United States. At the center of this issue is the danger of well made Chinese counterfeit silver and gold coins that are a concern in America and Canada. Some report disappointment in eBay not being more responsive in dealing with Chinese coin scams and frauds still being listed by the internet auction giant involving counterfeit coins of other countries.
